British Transport Police select the Talon ALPR system to protect UK railway stations

Appian Technology plc, the provider of Automatic License Plate Recognition systems ('ALPR') and traffic management products, has won a £285,000 ALPR order from the British Transport Police ('BTP') to assist them in improving security measures on the UK transport network. The order involves the installation of Talon ALPR systems at a number of railway stations in the short to medium term.

The order won in partnership with Optilan systems, a key UK systems integrator and follows successful trialling of the technology at the 2005 G8 conference at Gleneagles.
