PlateScan and Talon ALPR engine – Helping to reduce vehicle theft in the USA

Starting August 21st, the automatic license plate recognition system from PlateScan, Inc., Appian Technology’s key strategic partner in the United States, can be seen in action as an essential element in the recovery of stolen vehicles by the Essex-Union (NJ) Auto Theft Task Force on the new A&E Network reality series "Jacked!"

"Jacked!" follows the task force as it deals with the criminals who steal cars for robbery, drug-dealing and other nefarious deeds in one of America's most treacherous cities, Newark, New Jersey. PlateScan ALPR, which utilizes the Talon ALPR engine, helps the Task Force proactively identify vehicles of interest during routine patrols or special operations.

We are proud that PlateScan Inc., has been chosen by this important police task force to equip it with their license plate recognition system and back office data analysis software.

PlateScan's ALPR technology is used daily by US law enforcement agencies across the country and at mission-critical Department of Homeland Security facilities.
